Monna Claudia"  Rodano    92 points THE WINE ADVOCATE:

"...is a gorgeous, medium-bodied effort. It reveals candied cherries, minerals, menthol, earthiness chocolate wrapped around a core of expressive dark fruit, with an outstanding length on the palate and fine tannins to round out the finish. Anticipated maturity 2009-2019" ~ Antonio Galloni

“Vini d’Italia 2007 – 20 Anni” - Gambero Rosso - Guerrieri Rizzardi Review

Giuseppe Rizzardi is a winemaker who knows exactly what he wants, namely that Calcarole, the family cru, must be an Amarone with such a defined character that not all vintages will be suitable. Consequently, the next vintage will be 2003. Consequently Giuseppe decided, in agreement with the Administration Manager his brother Agostino and his mother M.C. Loredan, to blend the grapes of the Calcarole vineyard in the 2001 vintage with the grapes of Pojega forming the Villa Rizzardi Amarone. The results show he was correct. This is a red wine with great character, personality, rich fruits and spices. Its major impression is one of balance and strength. We liked it so much that we gave it 3 glasses. For Guerrieri Rizzardi this is the first time a wine has achieve three glasses.

      91 Palladino Barolo Serralunga 2001

Lots of licorice, plum and mushroom character on the nose and palate. Full bodied with velvet tannins and a long, long finish. Compacted and concentrated. Best after 2007. 900 cases made. ~ J.S.

  FANETTI vino nobile di montepulciano

      91 points THE WINE ADVOCATE:
...is made in a somewhat austere, structured style that seems to be designed for extended cellaring and the development of tertiary notes rather than an overt expression of fruit. It presents tobacco, licorice, cedar and red fruit on a medium bodied frame with notable detail and nuance in its expression. The raw materials are clearly those of a superb wine, even if the fruit appears somewhat dried out owning to an excessive period of oak aging. Anticipated maturity 2011-2021 ~ Antonio Galloni

RODANO CHIANTI CLASSICO RISERVA VIACOSTA

90 points THE WINE ADVOCATE:...reveals a powerful, earthy personality with plenty of dark fruit and an attractive sweetness from the oak that comes through on the finish. Already showing some early signs of development, it is ideal choice for drinking today and over the next decade. Anticipated maturity 2007-2017 ~ Antonio Galloni

92 points WINE AND SPIRITS MAGAZINE: Here's an intense and flavorful '01 just beginning to hit its stride. The scents evoke a forest floor in their earthiness, with the dark savor of bluefoot mushrooms. A stroke of tannin closes off the plum skin and juicy black cherry flavor, then the succulent richness of the fruit is back in the end, growing bolder with air. Ready over the next several years.
