Region: Tuscany

Grape Variety: 100% Sangiovese.

Alcohol: 12.5%.

Vinification: Grapes soak with the skins for two weeks in temperature controlled stainless steel vats.
The wine is aged in oak casks for about one year, then aged in the bottle for two months.

Description: Full garnet red, warm round bouquet with flavours of ripe plum and spices. Firm palate with a good balance of tannins on the finish. Supple, soft fragrance of morello cherries. The same  sensations are reflected on the palate. Elegant flavor with good tannic structure.

The extensive Vistarenni estate lies between Radda and Gaiole in Chianti, 580 metres. above sea level, and is dominated by its splendid 16th century villa.

Once the property of the Strozzi and Sonnino families, the name itself is thought to be of Etruscan origin and is first documented as a settlement in 1049.

Bottle life: 4 to 10 years

Absolutely perfect with grilled meats and assorted cheeses.

"Chianti" is from the Latin word "Clante", the name of the local ancient forum of that era.
