DOLCETTO D'ALBA - MADONNA DI COMO

IN THE PIEMONTE REGION OF ITALY, ON THE HILLS OF MADONNA DI COMO, WHERE IN ROMAN TIMES, COMO REFERRED TO THE CHORUS OF YOUNG DANCERS WHO PERFORMED TO HONOR BACCHUS, THE RINALDI VINEYARDS WERE BORN.

IN 1920, PIETRO, PAOLO AND HIS SON COSTANZO, BEGAN WORKING THE FAMILY LAND IN MADONNA DI COMO, PRODUCING AND AGING NEBBIOLO, BARBERA, DOLCETTO AND SUPERB MOSCATO WINES.

WORKING IN COLLABORATION WITH ENOLOGIST BEPPE CAVIOLA, VINEYARD MANAGER FRANCO DOMENICO, AND WINEMAKER WALTER VEGLlA, THE COUPLE IS DEVOTED TO MAKING DISTINCTIVE WINES OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY.

Grapes: Dolcetto

Colour: intense ruby red, with violet reflections.

Taste: intense, dry , persistent, full bodied, harmonios, with a tipically bitter and pleasent back- taste. It has a fresh perfume with hints of fruit and a slight bitter aftertaste .

Ageing: to be drink when young, better within one wear-anyway, it can be aged in the most favorable vintages.

How to serve it: 14-16 C° especially when young.

Better with: it can be served during all the meal, in particulary with poultry, rabbit, stewed vegetables, soft cheeses.
