MONTEFALCO ROSSO
Region: Umbria. Vineyards located in the areas of Montefalco.

Grapes: 60-70 % Sangiovese, 10-15% Sagrantino.
Wine making: Steeping in the presence of the grape skins for 8 to 10 days. 18 months, 9 of which in wooden casks and 6 months in bottles.
Alcohol Percentage: minimum 12% .
Bouquet: Intense, charateristic.
Taste: Dry well balanced and velvety. Montefalco Rosso has an intense ruby red colour, with evident shades of purple. Its open, ethereal aroma evokes preserves, with hints of blackberries and blackcurrants. It has a broad, harmonious flavour and is full-bodied to the taste, with a pleasant, persistent fruitiness. It is ideal served with red meat dishes and mature cheeses.
Food Combination: Flavoursome first courses like risotto, tagliatelle, ravioli. While young, it accompanies rare red meats well, when more mature it is best with game and mixed meat kebabs. It also accompanies mature hard cheeses like pecorino.
Serving temperature: 18-20° C.
