Taste: The 2005 Batie' has a rich nose of cherries, blackberry, violets, black licorice and truffles. It has rich, soft, deeply smooth long-lasting flavor in the mouth. It has an intense red ruby color with orange reflections, very open sweet-spiciness, with a grip of intensity that is counter balanced by a long smooth and velvety finish.
Production: 600 cases made.
This great wine paired with the rich and fruity Barbera, create a powerful combination that rivals the famous Barolo and Barbaresco wines, with the ability to improve for thirty years or more, with strong, bold flavors of cherry, leather, tar and flowers.
